A mother’s love is an unwavering and eternal bond that transcends time and space, enduring through all of life’s challenges and triumphs.

As Mother’s Day draws near, we are compelled to honor and rejoice in the endless love and selfless sacrifices that our mothers have made to enrich our lives. This annual celebration particular day is a poignant opportunity to convey heartfelt gratitude and deep appreciation for mothers’ unwavering support and care.

In every mother’s life, they may inevitably reach a point where they can no longer independently care for themselves or make critical decisions. Factors such as life events, injury, chronic illness, and the natural aging process can impact their cognitive functions. It is crucial for mothers and their loved ones to proactively plan ahead to guarantee that their desires are honored, especially in situations where they cannot communicate effectively.

I shared two compelling stories in my latest blogs that will genuinely resonate with you. One narrative depicts a gripping tale of experiencing a sudden crisis at a young age, while the other delves into the poignant journey of losing the ability to make decisions as one age. These accounts will captivate your emotions and offer valuable insights you won’t miss.

Ensuring that your wishes are honored is crucial for every mother, and one decisive way to achieve this is by preparing advance directives like a living will or a durable power of attorney for healthcare. By outlining your specific preferences for medical treatment and selecting a trusted individual to advocate for you in times of incapacity, you are taking proactive steps to guarantee that your healthcare decisions align with your desires. Encourage her to pursue legal counsel for all necessary documents to rest assured that her medical care and treatment will follow their instructions.

Give your mom the gift of peace of mind this Mother’s Day by ensuring her wishes and legacy are secure and protected. This workbook is designed to provide valuable resources to ease her stress during difficult times and crises.

Let us empower our mothers to proactively shape their future by urging them to set goals and make concrete plans to fulfill their desires as they grow older. By prioritizing advance care planning and fostering open communication, we can ensure their wishes are respected and honored.

Celebrate Mother’s Day with Mother’s Day Brunch. If you don’t want to go out, surprise her by making brunch for the girls at home! Here is a delicious eggs benedict recipe. Don’t forget Mimosas if you like to indulge a little.

  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • A dash of Tabasco to taste
  • 3/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) plus 1 tbsp. unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 slices Canadian bacon
  • 2 English muffins, split, toasted
  • A pinch of paprika for garnish

In a standard blender or a tall cup with an immersion blender, blend egg yolks, lemon juice, salt, tabasco and 1 teaspoon water until frothy.

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, melt 1/2 cup butter until no longer foaming and an instant-read thermometer inserted into butter registers 160°. With the blender running, slowly pour in butter in a very thin stream and continue to blend until sauce is thickened and emulsified.

Into a large saucepan, pour water to a depth of 2″. Bring to a gentle simmer. Break each egg into a small bowl, then gently lower the egg into water and tip into the pan. Using a slotted spoon, gently lift the egg from the bottom of the pan. Repeat with the remaining 3 eggs. Cook until whites are just set but yolks are still runny, about 3 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, carefully transfer eggs to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Add bacon and cook, turning once, until golden on both sides, about 4 minutes total.

Arrange bacon on top of English muffin halves. Top with poached eggs and drizzle with hollandaise. Sprinkle with paprika and serve.
